Hello Friends
Happy Friday.
If you follow me over on Instagram you will have already heard my exciting news.
After months of alluding to a big, but under wraps project I can finally share that I am writing a book with my wonderful friend and creative partner Kay @kinship_creativedc.
It feels mad and slightly surreal to share this news. After months of quiet planning, writing, photographing, travelling and meeting the most incredibly soulful creatives in their beautiful homes; today it became real.
It’s funny isn’t it, when you keep something secret for a very long time it can be difficult to actually talk about it when the cloak of secrecy is swept away. Knowing where to start. Knowing what parts to share first.
So I’ll keep it brief and start at the very beginning.
I remember the moment Kay asked me to write a book with her quite vividly.
It was the beginning of September last year— If my memory serves me correctly (it may not, it doesn’t always). I had just returned from holiday late the day before and the kids were straight back to school.
When Kay had called early that day I recall feeling slightly discombobulated, in that first day back at school, how do we do this all again vibes.
I certainly looked and felt disheveled, still in my dressing gown having used all time and energy getting the kids sorted.
And so it was in this slightly dishevelled, discombobulated state, perched on an empty paint tin in our (can’t be demolished soon enough for my liking) conservatory Kay asked me If I wanted to write a book together. The reality is never quite as glamorous as you hope.
My initial reaction? Yes, of course, thank-you! Swiftly followed by, but I can’t, I don’t know how.
But what I have learnt though, on the journey to publication, is that yes you can. That doing new things is both deeply uncomfortable and massively rewarding. And perhaps most importantly, I have learnt that there is such huge power in collaboration and creative partnership.
You can do what I cannot do. I can do what you cannot do. Together we can do great things.’

There will be plenty more in future letters about the book and the story of creating it. But for now our book, “A Home for All Seasons’ is available to pre order here. Published by Ryland Peter and Small, It is a booked filled with ideas for how to design and style a home which mindfully celebrates the passing of the seasons. A home that honours and embraces the beauty of the natural world. Split into the four seasons of the year, the book is inspired by the colours and rhythms of nature and features the most beautiful, soulful homes. Created by the most inspiring homeowners.
Published next June, Kay and I can’t wait to share our book with you all.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
